7:44 PM - Kindred Most Wanted Rules Preview #3

White Wolf has posted the updated Blood Curse rule on the Kindred Most Wanted preview page:

Blood Curse Update
Before KMW, the Blood Curse was tied to what clan a vampire was. Every Assamite had the Blood Curse even if card text didn't say so (unless card text explicitly overrode that, of course). Now, as of KMW, the Blood Curse only affects the vampires whose card text say so (just like all of the other attributes: Scarce, Cold Iron Vulnerability, Sterile, etc.).

So Assamite Embraces and vampires that Clan Impersonate an Assamite don't acquire the Curse, and an Assamite Impersonating another clan won't lose it.

10:10 PM - Infernal Plague Storyline Results

The results for the Infernal Plague Storyline results have been posted on the newsgroup:

The results of the Infernal Plague story line are tallied. The Baali's efforts to corrupt the other clans met with the most success among the Toreador, who turned infernal (won more Infernal Plague tournaments as infernalists) more than any other clan. Meanwhile, the Ventrue stood their ground, reinforcing their position as the Clan of Kings, leading the Camarilla efforts to thwart the infernal menace (and winning more tournaments as non-infernalists than any other clan). The infernal story line concludes with a sequel story-line tournament later this year (details to be announced). The sequel storyline will feature a support kit complete with Toreador and Ventrue cards associated with those clans' Infernal Plague victories and another surprise item not to be missed!

11:09 PM - Kindred Most Wanted Rules Preview #2

White Wolf has posted a new rule from the Kindred Most Wanted set on the Kindred Most Wanted preview page:

New Rule: Red List
Some minions are identified as Red List. Any Methuselah may use a master phase action to mark a Red List minion for the current turn. Any ready vampire she controls may enter combat with a marked Red List minion as a +1 stealth (D) action that costs 1 blood. Each vampire can take this action only once each turn.

If a vampire burns a Red List minion in combat or as a (D) action (including diablerie), his controller may go through her library, ash heap and/or hand to get a master trophy card to put on that vampire and then reshuffle her library or draw back up to her hand size as necessary.

See the Trophy rule for more about playing Trophies.

11:02 AM - Kindred Most Wanted Rules Preview #1

An update to the Infernal rule has been posted on the Kindred Most Wanted preview page:

Infernal Rule Update
Before KMW, the infernal penalty was paid to avoid tapping the infernal vampire in the untap phase. Now, as of KMW, the infernal penalty is paid to untap the infernal vampire (who now doesn't untap as normal).

So if the vampire is untapped already at the start of your turn (either because he didn't tap or because he untapped some other way via Majesty or Change of Target or the like), you don't have to pay to keep him that way.

9:26 PM - Next Set: Nights of Reckoning

The name of the next V:TES set has been revealed in the new White Wolf Quarterly. It will be called Nights of Reckoning. This set will be released only five months after Legacies of Blood. Only booster packs are available for purchase. These two factors lead me to believe that the set will not be a 'full' release. In fact, to quote LSJ, "The nine months window is the period between full expansions. For instance, the 10th anniversary tins were a "between full expansions" release." The theme has not been announced, but early conjecture points to a hunter and ally-based set.

2:19 AM - Charter

The purpose of this blog is to provide a centralized space for V:TES news. News items will include: tournament reports, previews, newsletters, significant rulings, tournament announcements and whatever else I deem fit to print. I am aiming for an audience of Ohio and USA players. International correspondants welcome. I'd like to have a 'one look' presentation for V:TES news items instead of having to look through web pages, forum posts or newsgroups to find the latest V:TES news. I'll try to maximize the signal and keep the noise to a minimum.

Remember, bleed your prey.
