Yes, another post during my 'break' from blogging.

This one regards the Sword of Cain, the next set for V:TES. From the White Wolf LiveJournal:

"Meanwhile, cards for Sword of Cain for V:TES are slowly emerging from the shadows. Right now, Chaney's considering a logo design incorporated sword-canes with three or four two-handed blades sticking out and chicks in bikinis and castles on fire and red-striped peppermint hook-wands totally dragging dudes down to Hell, which is on fire, and a bunch of nekkid vampire chicks totally drinking peoples' blood on the way and yeah."

White Wolf will release the first expansion for its new Vampire the Eternal Struggle 3rd Edition, which was previewed at GenCon (see "White Wolf Plans GenCon Releases"), in February. The expansion, titled Sword of Cain, will be a 60 card set.

White Wolf has been pleased with the initial response to VTES 3rd, according to company spokesperson Kelley Barnes-Herman. The company distributed over twice as many retailer prerelease kits as it expected to, and preorders for the September 6th street date have been good, she said."

11:19 PM - V:TES 3rd Edition Player's Kit

Wow, an actual post from yours truly!

So we all know about V:TES 3rd Edition, the new Sabbat set: Link

But did you know there will be a introductory player's kit as part of the set release? Some details from Game Trade Magazine 76, "This introductory kit for Vampire: The Eternal Struggle 3rd Edition contains four 50-card introductory decks, 120 blood tokens, a rulebook, and Quickstart rules. Scheduled to ship in August 2006. WWP 02757 $19.99" Sounds like a good deal to me! No comment on what clans the decks will be, but I would assume they are the same as the individual starters in the set (Tzimisce, Brujah anti-tribu, Malkavian anti-tribu and Tremere anti-tribu).

11:08 PM - GLQ #1, 2006

This past weekend I attended the first Great Lakes Regional Qualifier. Forty-five players attended, one was previously qualified. The five finalists were all from Ohio, one was eight years old. Jay Kristoff won harnessing the power of No Secrets From the Magaji and skill. This is Jay's third win at the GLQ in a row. We shall wait to see if he goes to unite the belt for the GLQ in the second qualifier later this year. All participants received four promos and at least one booster pack. My promos were: Genina, The Red Poet, Spontaneous Power, Wall Street Night, Financial Newspaper and Port Authority. The art this year for the t-shirt is Ahrimane Protectorate. Many thanks to David Wilson for running the event and weathering the storms of judging a game that resembles Calvinball more and more each day.

9:58 AM - Suspension of Activity for 2006

Well, this year the NAC falls on the same dates as Archon. Archon is very near and dear to my heart and I am signed up and paid for it for the next two years already. So, I will not be competing in V:TES this year at a Continental level. I will go to regional tournaments I can get rides to, including the first GLQ and will be at Origins, but that's about it in terms of V:TES.

For V:TES news, watch the newsgroup, the Yahoo group for the newsletters, the White Wolf Fourms and the various messageboards.

Also, the audio portion of this blog is not working at present. So don't expect much coverage from me on here. I'll do what I can and see how things work out next year. Thank you all for checking out the blog over the past year. I hope to return in the future.
